Providing high-quality education options for students is a top priority in Van Buren. Local leaders recognize that equipping young minds with the tools they need to succeed is important to both their future and the community’s.
The Van Buren Chamber of Commerce benefits from strong relationships with several educational institutions. These include the Van Buren School District, Crawford County Adult Education Center, the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, and Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus, among others. These valued members work closely with the Chamber to promote educational opportunities for citizens and to help strengthen the region’s overall workforce.
The Van Buren School District is a key partner to the Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber’s Education Committee sponsors the Arkansas Scholars program at VBSD, provides an annual scholarship, and hosts the monthly lunch series, which connects students to community and business leaders. The Chamber also supports District leaders and staff throughout the year, through the promotion of school events and activities.
Higher education and adult education institutions are also crucial to developing a qualified workforce. Members have unique opportunities available to them through the Chamber, including special workshops and courses. Chamber members also are among the first to hear about business fairs and employment expos.
