Put your business front and center by sponsoring a Chamber event, annual program, or digital media.
New network building events in 2022 include the Battle of the Business Bowling Tournament and the Local Lunch for restaurants. BE PRO BE PROUD and Connecting Educators in Industry are focused on building the workforce pipeline for our community. Also new this year are two annual program sponsorships, the Governmental Affairs Committee, and the Chamber Ambassadors, both focused on advocacy for a strong, business friendly climate in our community, county, and state.
Or promote your business utilizing the Chamber website, which received more than 145,000 visits in 2021. And don't forget the long running favorites; the Annual Meeting & Business Expo, the Golf Classic, Business After Hours, and the Arkansas Scholars Award Ceremony.
The Education Committee is dedicated to working to improve connections between industries and the schools of Van Buren. The committee implements programs to help prepare students for their futures and make connection between those students and potential employers in the area. Be Pro Be Proud, Connecting Educators to Industry, and Arkansas Scholars are all programs that the committee runs in order to support these students in realizing their potential in our community.
The Van Buren Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, in conjunction with the Van Buren School District, honor Van Buren High School’s most exceptional students at its annual Arkansas Scholars Awards Ceremony.
Arkansas Scholars is a prestigious distinction given only to graduates who have achieved a 95% or better attendance record in their four years of high school. The students must also have a "C" or higher average and have completed all the required courses to graduate in four years. Each scholar is presented with a certificate at the ceremony and awarded a medallion at graduation.
Be Pro Be Proud utilizes a Mobile Workshop featuring a variety of simulators to provide a hands-on approach to learning about key professions, their impact on our state’s workforce, and the opportunity for Arkansas residents. Van Buren students will tour the simulator and learn more about employment opportunities of these industries in the River Valley. The Be Pro Be Proud Mobile Workshop is presented by the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce.
Van Buren teachers and staff will spend a Professional Development day touring local industries and learning more on bridging education to industry. Teachers will learn from a panel of local leaders on what can be done to encourage students into these areas of work.
