Or promote your business utilizing the Chamber website, which received more than 145,000 visits in 2021. And don't forget the long running favorites; the Annual Meeting & Business Expo, the Golf Classic, Business After Hours, and the Arkansas Scholars Award Ceremony.

  • Constitution Week, National Voter Registration Day at UAFS

The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith will honor the words and vision of the men responsible for writing the U.S. Constitution 238 years ago during Constitution Week with events aimed toward education and encouraging involvement in democracy.

Constitution Week, Sep. 15 – Sept. 19, will have events, lectures, and a voter registration drive hosted by the UAFS Democracy Project.

“Constitution Week is a very important historical and civic moment when we reflect on the work the Founding Fathers did when setting up the American political system,” said Dr. Williams Yamkam, associate professor of history, social sciences, and philosophy. “It is important for our students to get a good grasp of the founding documents of the United States of America and to understand the key features of the American political system. This empowers our students to become better engaged citizens.”

Students, faculty, and staff who meet voter eligibility requirements can register to vote on National Voter Registration Day, Sept. 16. The UAFS Democracy Project is partnering with the Sebastian County Clerk’s Office and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority alumni to assist with voter registration.

Throughout the week, a display on the U.S. Constitution will be available at the Boreham Library during its hours of operation.
